Upward mobility for an RPO operations director
Hi, Liz. Thanks for taking the time to tell us about your experience as an operations director with Hudson RPO. Let’s jump right in! What led you to Hudson RPO?
I had been working in senior in-house roles for 12 years and wanted to make the move back into recruitment process outsourcing (RPO). At the time, Hudson RPO was in the market looking for an account manager for one of our FMCG clients.
I saw this opportunity as a transition back into the RPO world and was very impressed with the people I met throughout the recruitment/candidate engagement process.
How has your role changed since joining Hudson RPO?
I feel very fortunate to have been provided with great career opportunities while working at Hudson RPO. I initially managed the United Biscuits/Pladis account. However, I quickly received the opportunity to establish and manage additional new client accounts.
From there, my role grew, enabling me to play to my strengths and experience of implementing new talent services.
I began working closely with sales and solutions, and was promoted into an Operations Director role, responsible specifically for the implementation of RPO solutions and projects across EMEA.
Tell us more about your current role. What are your responsibilities?
My role today is Operations Director. I’m specifically responsible for the implementation of services within the EMEA region. In the early stages of a new project, this involves working closely with sales and solutions to design a best-fit solution.
After the solution is designed, my team has complete responsibility and accountability for the implementation of the service.
To help ensure project success, I have a wonderful team who provide project management, data, and systems support. I then work closely with the operations team to embed the service within the client, ensuring it is established for operational success.
What are your areas of expertise within the industry?
My true strengths lie in the set-up of solutions and services within recruitment functions, partnering with clients from inception to operational business as usual, to achieve service excellence.
I have an eye for detail, with process and data being at the heart of everything I do. I enjoy translating complex and differing client solutions into operational service models.
What motivated you to join the industry?
I enjoy the variety of organisations and stakeholders, and the challenges presented in this environment.
What do you think are the best points about working here?
The people and the understated culture — we work hard, but we also have a lot of fun along the way.
